tDash was sent to us to check out, so we did as expected.  Dug in to give you the review.  For starters, they use oAuth for login and promise a clean, simple interface.  URLs are automagically shortened and you can also share pictures.  I was curious how the interface would look.  The left side broke down to: Lists Folders Trends Friends You can view a screenshot of the dashboard right here .  Some alternate abilities were in the toolbar...

t.imo.im really doesn’t show you much on their homepage about how the service works, features or functions.  This generally scares us.  Really scares us.  The main page simply asks you to do a few steps, with no indication of the outcome. Log in securely to Twitter (oAuth) Pick a follower or someone to chat with Direct message them to start chatting Well how in the heck does it work?  Is this a slew of direct messages?  Does it...

Joy.ly allows you to utilize their interface to send tweets with more unicode characters.  The person reading the tweet will get a link and come back to joy.ly to see it all, so that was a bummer.  A lot of it also rides on the fact that whatever client or machine the are using may not have all the fonts needed to enjoy the experience.  Windows is a prime example.  Mac will work great. The choices are like the Lucky Charms of tweets.  Arrows,...

I ran across TweetMiner and was intrigued that it was a tool that could bring RSS news feeds in and allow single click tweets right from the content.  The goal is to search and mine for web content that you then easily share with followers.  Once again you become the micro-community search tool for your followers. There is both a web and desktop client available and demo videos to help you grasp how it all works.  Adding a feed uses Google...

I ran across Lu.ly quite by accident from a posting on what seemed to be a French blog that was linked.  What I found was a browser extension that places an action bar to view the stream and even tweet. You can also shorten URL’s using the Lu.ly domain name and get Facebook updates.    Basically a more limited client but acts like a ticker instead of having to look elsewhere.  Read More →

This is a handy mobile interface and works great from your desk too.  You simple log into Tweetbe.at (as in TweetBeat) with oAuth and pick a channel or hashtag.  When I say pick, I mean type one in to be clear.  There is no list of existing channels to be found.  I made a quick one for the SocialMediaBusinessForum ( #smbf ) You are then presented with a nice sized, timeline list of tweets with that tag and the avatars and names of who …  Read More →

Dabr does not have flashy icons or a huge splash page.  It is because they are geared for mobile devices and providing the best web experience they can.  oAuth is offered, but they openly state it does not always work well on mobile devices so a normal username/password login option is avaialable. There is multiple color screens as well as selecting the type of client you are accessing the site: pc touch mobile normal mobile text only work...
