Twitterchat was sent over to use for review.  I am glad we had the chance to see it and tell you our thoughts.  The tool itself allows you to create a small embeddable chat box that offers realtime communication.  There are plenty of tools out there that do this across proprietary and other IM systems.  With the Twitter integration it does reach a different audience. You are prompted to create an account …  Read More →

tlists allows you to search, curate, join and follow Twitter lists, a tool that is needed to make lists useful.  The main page starts you with a slick interface with some top lists and the hashtag categories they cover, as well as a search.  You are able to see the curator, apply to the list and even follow it.  Authentication is done via oAuth to Twitter for ease of integration your account.  You are able to add your own lists as well....

Have you been sharing links on Twitter and not saving them anywhere else?  You soon realize that Twitter does not keep your history forever.  So Packrati.us will automatically follow your Twitter feed and bookmark your shared links into your Delicious account (I prefer Diigo for bookmarks however). You log in via oAuth, and they rely heavily on you merging your Yahoo and Delicious accounts  Read More →

ManageFlitter greets you with a simple page asking you to connect to Twitter via oAuth to “take a look”.  Nothing more is provided on the page and no help link or about page was linked. After approving the oAuth, it scans your tweets and followers and begins showing who has been quiet, inactive, missing profile images and more….  Read More →

Another day, another celebration and this one is taking place all over the world! In case you’ve been living in a cave for the past month, the World Cup is making a big splash on the web and everyone has something to say. How are you going to get your World Cup fix? On Twitter of course. To honor this event, Twitter themselves have made the perfect site to compliment the games: World Cup 2010 Tweets . We hope to see expanded to the NBA,...

SwearJarr is a unique idea that asks those that swear on Twitter to donate to the jar.  The money raised is split between two charities each month.  According to the statistics they collected, over 425,000 swear words a day cross the public stream. Now they cannot force you to donate, but allow you to search your stream and give suggestions as well as prompt others.  The top swearing celebrities are listed on the bottom right and you are...

Trst.me (from Infochimps ) relies on calculating user reputation instead of just seeing how many followers they have as a deciding factor.  The first thing I noticed about how they compile the information is that they have been compiling Twitter information since 2008 using the API.  This gives them a good base to begin measurement. You enter a username into the single box on the page to have it compute a score ranking of 1-10.  Read More →

UMapper is a neat little tool I was sent a link to investigate.  It can actually map anything into a custom map, but tweets are our focus here.  I created a map for a recent conference, easily zooming into the city it was held.  Surprisingly, it was fast and a great way to see what people were talking about with their avatars showing. The engine is so powerful and I would encourage you to watch the tutorials as well as make some for your...

Retweet Rank allows anonymous or authenticated lookup (via oAuth) on the retweetability of a user.  The formula seems to be easy.  It is the ratio of the number of times a person is retweeted.  I am not sure how the percentage helps you.  I imagine the more your followers followers retweet you is even better, no? The do run an ad down the right side when you use the service.  Nothing major, but at least they are trying to monetize.  Read More →

tDash was sent to us to check out, so we did as expected.  Dug in to give you the review.  For starters, they use oAuth for login and promise a clean, simple interface.  URLs are automagically shortened and you can also share pictures.  I was curious how the interface would look.  The left side broke down to: Lists Folders Trends Friends You can view a screenshot of the dashboard right here .  Some alternate abilities were in the toolbar...

Muuter is a great tool to put a silencer on someone that is tweeting away at a conference you do not care about, or maybe some sports event.  They make a good point of explaining if you unfollow someone, odds are you would forget to follow them back.  Using this service gives you the needed break. They do the entire unfollow/follow action automated. You are able to send a Direct Message to the service specifying who to silence and for how...

t.imo.im really doesn’t show you much on their homepage about how the service works, features or functions.  This generally scares us.  Really scares us.  The main page simply asks you to do a few steps, with no indication of the outcome. Log in securely to Twitter (oAuth) Pick a follower or someone to chat with Direct message them to start chatting Well how in the heck does it work?  Is this a slew of direct messages?  Does it...
