  Samsung 3D Projection Mapping In Am...
  Digital Buzz - www.digitalbuzzblog.com - If you thought that last few projection mapping examples I posted were amazing, then check this out. Samsung have just run three nights of an amazing 3D projection mapping installation in Amsterdam to promote their new range of 3D LED TVs. Perfectly mapped to a historic building in Amsterdam, the projection realistically cracks the building in half, sending debris shattering down before it fills up with water and then drains into a rain forest revealing the new Samsung 3D LED TV! While Ive seen other attempted 3D perspectives, this certainly has to be the best 3D experience Ive seen from Projection mapping!

  ACDC Vs Iron Man 2 - Architectural...
  On the site of a thousand years of violent history, ACDC were pitted against Iron Man in a ground breaking architectural projection mapping project. The front facade of the Great Keep at Rochester Castle, was brought to life using the latest in 3D animation techniques. This onslaught of the senses, saw the castle confront it's ultimate challenge. Warping, morphing, spewing and collapsing before the audiences eyes. Let there be rock!

  This is a slightly different kind of texture painting mode from what I showed before. The video is not edited, it's a live stream of the workflow. These features aren't available in the alpha version yet, so consider this a teaser. I'm currently using two hotkeys - one for exporting the current view to a layered PSD file, and another to import and "paste" the edited image information from that same file. I ended up using almost the same view angle throughout this whole video, but it does project equally well from any direction. As you can see, the file is set up with blended layers that allow me to paint on a seemingly 3D object with complete lighting, or I can switch off the shading layer to see my raw texture pixels. Visualized bumpmap information is also exported to a hidden layer that can be used for nice masking effects. It's not imported back to the model though, so you can't edit the bumps that way. This will be a complement to native "direct" texture painting onto the actual object, and should be useful for more advanced detailing or simply to let you paint in an application that you're comfortable with. The main drawback is of course that you can't rotate the object immediately while painting, and complex surfaces might end up with limited coverage (shadows) from the projection.   Barco Newsletter: www.barco.com 3D Projection mapping in the city of Sugarland, Texas for New Years Eve 2010. This video is courtesy of Texas Video & Post who created the content. LD Systems provided sound, lights, video and staging for the 25th anniversary of the city. The equipment included a gramdMA lighting console, Barco HD projectors, Hippotizer HD media server and mapping system, and EV X-Line concert speakers. LDS and TV&P collaborated for this event on the heels of the overwhelmingly successful Glowrama event.
