
SMS problems still being worked on

Last night we posted about some ongoing SMS problems. An emergency fix we did last night appeared to address many of the symptoms but we still have problems with SMS commands not being accepted. We are continuing to work on this.

We’re currently researching reports from users who are locked out after trying to reset their passwords or change their email address or user names. This seems to affect new users as well as long term users; we do not advise changing your user name, email address, or password at this time. We will update Status with more news as it becomes available.

We’re working through a problem whereby some users are seeing tweets from users they do not follow. This is obviously a significant problem and one we are working hard to address. We anticipate that it will take several days for us to completely resolve all of the symptoms of this issue.

We have temporarily disabled the SMS delivery of tweets. We are continuing to work on a fix for the misdelivery problem noted earlier and will turn the service back on as soon as this is resolved. Update (11:47p): This issue has now been fixed. Both updating from SMS and receiving messages via SMS should work as expected.
